Bell Price Hike: Select ‘Winback’ Plans Increasing in September

The wireless price hikes keep coming, as Bell recently informed customers on select ‘winback’ plans (exclusive deals offered to lure you back to the company) an increase is happening on September 1, 2024.

According to an email shared by an iPhone in Canada reader, Bell explains the $40/100GB plan is going up by $6/month on September 1.

As for why the price increase is coming? Bell says it’s because they are “continuously investing to provide world-class services, reliable connections and to support the rapidly increasing network demand.”

The email then details the mobile numbers affected and describes the change as your rate plan price will increase by $6/month.

Again, if you’re a Bell customer, you may want to check your email (especially your spam folder), in case you missed this.

Bell’s website right now shows an $80/month plan with 150GB for 24 months. So the $40 ‘winback’ plan is half the cost and pretty rare even with 100GB of 5G data. It’s no surprise Bell wants to slowly increase prices for these customers it has lured back. Average revenue per user metrics are important for shareholders.

Recently, we’ve seen Bell’s flanker brand Virgin Plus increase its wireless prices, while Telus-owned Koodo jacking up the price of visual voicemail on top of select Black Friday plans.

I’m going to be lowering the price of my plan Bell, because your service SUCKS.

ALMOST as bad as your customer service.

This country and its oligopolies are PATHETIC.
