Virgin Plus Tweaks Plans and Pricing to Match Fido and Koodo
Flanker brands from Rogers, Telus and Bell continue to align their plans, to nobody’s surprise.
After seeing price increases from Fido and Koodo, Bell’s Virgin Plus has again tweaked its plans to align with its competitors.
Here are Virgin Plus’ current plans for bring your own device:
- $39/20GB ($5 decrease; was $44)
- $44/40GB (new; matches Fido and Koodo)
- $49/50GB ($1 decrease; was $50)
- $54/60GB
- $65/75GB 5G
Here are Fido’s current plans as of today:
- $39/20GB
- $44/40GB
- $54/60GB (save $5/month for 24 months, so $49/60GB)
Koodo’s current plans are as follows:
- $39/20GB
- $44/40GB
- $49/60GB
Looking at all three brands, Koodo’s $49/60GB plan should be soon matched by Fido and Virgin Plus. It seems like the slow increase of plan pricing is a play to make future Black Friday deals look even sweeter.
You’re still better off getting a $34/50GB 5G Canada-US plan from Public Mobile or Freedom Mobile at this point, or waiting until this fall and Black Friday for the best cellphone deals.
