Bell Confirms Internet and TV Outages in Burlington
Late Thursday evening, Bell reported an Internet and TV services outage affecting some customers in Burlington, Ontario.
The disruption is due to another cable cut, according to Bell. The telecoms says they are working to restore service as quickly as possible and thanked customers for their patience.
On Friday morning, Bell clarified the service outage was caused by a fire last night that damaged cables. The fire occurred where Bell teams had recently completed repairs following a previous cable cut by a third-party construction company unrelated to them. The cause of the fire remains unknown, but Bell’s teams are actively working to restore services.
“We apologize for the additional inconvenience this situation may be causing,” Bell stated.
One apparent Bell customer said they received a fourth estimated time of restoration, noting it could take until Monday to fix the internet and TV outage. Heading into the long weekend without TV and internet is not going to be fun for those who require being online for work.
Earlier this year, Bell outages occurred in Newmarket and Holland Landing, after road construction cut the company’s cables.
