Apple’s iPhone 16 Event Date: September 10, Says Gurman
When will Apple hold its iPhone 16 series special event? According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, sources tell him it’s happening on Tuesday, September 10, 2024.
Sources say Apple will unveil its iPhone 16 series line up, along with Apple Watch and AirPods updates.
As for when the iPhone 16 series smartphones will go on sale? Gurman says sales will take place on September 20, falling in line with the Apple’s tick-tock schedule as seen in recent years.
Gurman says Apple has also ramped up testing of M4 Macs, with four new models showing up in developer test logs (“16,1,” “16,2,” “16,3” and “16,10.”). Three of these models will have 10-core CPU/GPU combos, while one has an 8-core CPU/GPU configuration.
Recent rumours have pointed to a new “desert” titanium colour for the iPhone 16 Pro line up, while the regular iPhone 16 colours have also been supposedly leaked.
Here’s what’s coming according to Gurman’s sources:
- iPhone 16 Pro: larger screens, new camera features, dedicated button for taking pictures
- Apple Watch Series 10: larger screens, thinner design
- AirPods: new low-end (first update since 2019) and mid-tier models (with noise cancellation)
- Mac: new M4 Apple Silicon; 16 or 32GB RAM options
- Coming later in 2024 with M4: smaller Mac mini; new MacBook Pro; updated iMacs
Are you upgrading to an iPhone 16 series model this year? In order to use Apple Intelligence features, an iPhone 15 Pro or newer is required.
