Fido and Koodo Debut $39/100GB Plan, Matching Virgin Plus

This morning, Fido, Koodo and Virgin Plus did the wireless tango again, all magically debuting a $34/60GB plan with US calling.
Bell’s Virgin Plus looked to pave its own path by also adding a $39/100GB plan. We told you Fido and Koodo would follow suit, and now both have, as expected.
Fido has now added a $39/100GB plan to its line up, alongside the $44/80GB plan. Both include unlimited calling to 7 countries.
As for Koodo, it has axed the $44/80GB plan and instead added a $39/100GB plan.
The prices above are after autopay, or preauthorized credit card payments. Here’s the updated plan line up:
Fido
- $34/60GB – US Calling
- $39/100GB – unlimited calling to 7 countries (NEW)
- $44/80GB – unlimited calling to 7 countries
Koodo
- $34/60GB – Unlimited Long Distance Pack to 27 countries is one perk
- $39/100GB (NEW) – Unlimited Long Distance Pack to 27 countries is one perk
$44/80GB
Virgin Plus
- $34/60GB – US Calling
- $39/100GB – US Calling
These plans are pale in comparison to the North American roaming offered by Public Mobile and Freedom Mobile. This morning, Freedom Mobile made its entry plans sweeter with a 25GB data bonus.

Worst part is that in six months, they will all do a price increase for $5.00, just like last years BF offers. Started at $34 (or $29 Fido) and by summer, +$5.00.
On the bright side, and I’m not sure about the $39/100gb at Koodo, but I was able to change to the $34/60gb w/ roll over data using self serve despite the plan clearly showing “Not available on rate plan change for existing customers.” I had the $34/50gb from BF 2023 which was price increased to $39/50gb mid-2024.
Last year promo plan changes required contacting their support and then changing it through them. I’m not clear if self serve plan changes are still an option by the afternoon today as I haven’t been able to get back into my account since I did my self-serve plan change this morning.
Exactly, carriers hoping that subscribers are to lazy to port out.
I don’t see the $34 plan being offered for me, Koodo self serve
Are these all 4G, seems PC Mobile has $34/55GB with 5G, this plan has stayed the same for the last 6 months, and no price creep after 6 months as noted.
Ya should specify if it’s 4G or 5G
i checked my account and fido offered 100gb/$43 mo and 1gb/$55. the fact that the second plan even exists is predatory and disgusting.
