Here are Rogers, Telus and Bell’s Lunar New Year Deals
Today marks the start of the Lunar New Year (year of the snake) and typically we see our wireless carriers offer promos.
As of today, here are the plans being offered by Rogers, Telus and Bell. For most Asian cultures, the number 8 is considered lucky, as when pronounced in Chinese, for example, it sounds just like the same meaning for wealth and prosperity.
So this means carriers typically will launch plans and pricing with the number 8, targeting this demographic (we saw this with Freedom Mobile yesterday) over the 15 day celebration.
Rogers, Telus and Bell have some bring your own device 5G plans targeting Lunar New Year. Rogers doesn’t have an $88/188GB plan yet but it will soon, we’re predicting.
Check out the bring your own device plans as of today, below…
Rogers
- $39/50GB – add a line
- $60/100GB
- $70/175GB + 1000 long distance minutes
- $90/200 Canada-US-Mexico roaming
While we don’t see a targeted Lunar New Year plan deal, Rogers is offering the Google Pixel 9 for $0/month on financing after trade in, plus 50% off Chinese theme pack when you add Popular TV with your internet plan.
Telus
- $60/100GB
- $75/125GB
- $80/150GB Canada-US
- $88/188GB Canada-US-Mexico
- $90/200GB Canada-US-Mexico
Bell
- $60/100GB
- $88/188GB Canada-US-Mexico
Nothing is super appealing, as we all know Black Friday and Boxing Day promos are the time to get a new cellphone plan.

I really find it difficult to understand why people would need so much data on a mobile plan.
I have a 60GB plan with Telus and never really spent more than 20GB…
