Rogers Xfinity Launches App TV: Live and Streaming in One Plan

Rogers Xfinity has introduced App TV, which combines live TV and streaming services in one plan.
App TV starts at $25 per month and gives Rogers Xfinity Internet customers access to 40+ live and on-demand channels, 20 free ad-supported (FAST) channels, and Netflix Standard with ads.
The service works entirely through the Rogers Xfinity Streaming app, and no cable TV boxes are required.
“App TV combines our best entertainment experience and world-class technology to bring Rogers Xfinity customers the best of both worlds,” said Bret Leech, President, Residential, Rogers, in a statement. “It combines live TV, including the latest new episodes of shows from Canada’s top specialty channels like Bravo, HGTV, Food Network and Discovery with Netflix so customers can watch their favourites when they want, how they want.”
Rogers customers can add an Xfinity Stream Box ($5/month), which integrates live TV and streaming into a single menu, so there’s no need to switch between apps. The box comes with a voice-controlled remote and uses Comcast’s EntertainmentOS.
