You Can Now Buy Dyson’s Supersonic r Hair Dryer in Canada

Dyson has just released a new version of its high-end hair dryer, the Supersonic r, now available to the public in Canada. Previously used only by professional stylists, the device is now being sold directly to consumers starting this week.

The Supersonic r is Dyson’s most powerful hair dryer to date, but also its lightest. It weighs just 325 grams and is 30% smaller and 20% lighter than the original Supersonic model. The motor spins at up to 110,000 rpm to deliver fast, focused airflow without using extreme heat, which helps prevent hair damage.

Originally seen backstage at fashion shows last year, the tool has gained a following among stylists for its speed, precision, and ease of use. Dyson says the new model gives users salon-quality results at home, smoothing hair and adding shine while cutting down on frizz.

The dryer comes with five magnetic attachments designed for different hair types:

  • A flyaway smoother that tucks in stray hairs,
  • A precision concentrator for focused airflow,
  • A high-velocity attachment for faster drying,
  • A wide-tooth comb for detangling textured hair, and
  • A diffuser for defining curls and waves.

Each attachment has built-in sensors that automatically adjust heat and airflow based on saved preferences.

The Dyson Supersonic r is priced at a hefty $729.99 CAD (the original Supersonic is priced from $579) and is available in two new colours: Ceramic Pink and Jasper Plum. It went on sale April 3 at Dyson stores and DysonCanada.com.

They have so many of these now that it is confusing to figure out which one should you get. What’s the difference between this and the multistyler or airwrap id ?

When you figure it out, please let me know – my wife's birthday is coming soon and I owe her one.

Still dries hair. Only difference is the look and how it swallows up another $200 of your money….
