GTA 6 Delayed: Rockstar Sets New Spring 2026 Release Date

Rockstar Games has confirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI will launch on May 26, 2026, pushing the highly anticipated release further out than many fans expected.
In a message shared with the community, Rockstar apologized for the delay, calling the excitement around the game “humbling.” The developer said the extra time is needed to ensure the game meets the high standards expected by fans.
“With every game we have released, the goal has always been to try and exceed your expectations, and Grand Theft Auto VI is no exception,” said the company.
“We look forward to sharing more information with you soon,” concluded Rockstar Games.
It’s been a long wait for GTA fans since the first screenshots and videos of the sixth installment were leaked back in September 2022. In December 2023, Rockstar’s first GTA 6 trailer confirmed Vice City and Lucia, while a release date was set for the fall of 2025.
With Borderlands 4 launching a bit earlier than expected in September, many suspected GTA 6 news was coming. One day after Take-Two’s earnings call, we now see GTA 6 delayed to May 2026. The long wait continues…
