Bell Launches $70 Travel Passes to Mexico, Caribbean, and Europe

Bell has launched new travel passes for customers traveling to the Caribbean, Mexico and Europe, in the form of new 7-day and 14-day passes, according to changes made on its website on late Tuesday and spotted by iPhone in Canada.
The new passes include:
- Mexico and Caribbean Pass: $70 for 7 days of usage (works out to $10/day)
- Europe Pass: $70 for 14 days of usage (works out to $5/day)
Both passes include unlimited talk and text, and let you use the data from your regular wireless plan while travelling. Unlike Bell’s existing Roam Better options ($13/day for the U.S. and $16/day for international), these new travel passes offer flat pricing over 7 or 14 days.
You can activate a pass through the MyBell app or by texting a code (7DAYPASS to 4400 for the Caribbean and Mexico; EURO14 to 4400 for the Europe pass).
These new options are available now—check MyBell to see if your destination is eligible. Existing daily passes for the U.S. remain at $13/day and international at $16/day.
Here are travel passes from Bell, Rogers and Telus for comparison as of today (Rogers/Fido increased prices back in March of this year):
Bell roaming rates:
- $13/day for US
- $16/day for international
- Europe Pass: $70 for 14 days
- Mexico and Caribbean Pass: $70 for 7 days
Telus roaming rates:
- $14/day for US
- $16/day for international
- Europe: $50 for 14 days; $16/day after; $60 for 30 days; $16/day after (available via your account)
- Caribbean and Mexico: $60 for 7 days; $16/day after (available via your account)
Rogers roaming rates:
- $13/day for US
- $16/day for international
If you’re travelling in North America, your best bet is to get a local SIM card or buy eSIM data from third party services such as Saily (from the makers of NordVPN), or get a Canada-US-Mexico plan from Freedom Mobile or Public Mobile.
For example, Saily has an ‘unlimited’ Europe plan for 15 days, which gives you 5GB of data per day (throttles to 1Mbps once you exceed your data) for about $68 CAD ($49.99 USD). That’s essentially 75GB of high speed data and still limited speed data once you use it all.

Depending on your usage, its still not as cheap as many eSim plans for many countries – but I suppose if you want to use your phone as you do at home, it might be seen as a convenience thing?
Meanwhile, any plan that includes roaming in the US will remain a moot point for me anytime in the near future – except should I be sufficiently close to the border and inadvertently be picked by a US tower instead of a Canadian one.
The Telus Europe passes are a much better deal than these ones. Rogers even has a plan with unlimited European usage year round. But the article neglected to mention those.
where can we find a link to the Telus Europe passes?
Hey Gary, looks like you or someone found it cuz I see the article is updated. It’s annoying that Telus makes you sign into your account to see it. But it’s $50 for 14 days and $60 for 30 days, yes.
At the top of the page on this link you can see an image (looks like an airport arrivals board) that mentions some of the options. But you have to sign in to see them all, such as the $60 30 day option: Link
Also for the rogers plan it’s $70 or $75 for unlimited roaming in 65 or so countries. You have to have EPP to get it. But you can get EPP for Rogers pretty easily if not already eligible, such as by signing up for BCAA, if you are an alumnus from UBC or SFU, etc.
Here is a link to the Rogers plan. You will need to select the right options (Infinite Plans, then BYOD or Hero Financing etc) to see it.
