How to Watch This Week’s Pokémon Presents and What to Expect

On Tuesday, July 22nd, a new Pokémon Presents is being live-streamed by The Pokémon Company. With a new slate of announcements and reveals on deck, fans will surely want to tune in to see what’s in store.

Last week, The Pokémon Company announced the first Pokémon Presents live stream since February. As a follow-up to the event held on Pokémon Day, it’s assumed we’ll get further updates and news on the franchise’s mainline entries that are on the horizon, as well as news about the mobile titles currently out.

Here’s what you can expect from this week’s Pokémon Presents.

When the Pokémon Presents was announced on X (formerly Twitter), it was revealed alongside an image of Pikachu in front of DJ equipment. Since that time, new images of Pikachu spinning on the turntables have been released. The Pokémon Company has said that the more “Pikachu” comments made during the live stream’s pre-show, the more will appear in the audience. As for why The Pokémon Company decided to make Pikachu a DJ is anyone’s guess. Maybe there’ll be an announcement of a rhythm game or perhaps some sort of Pokémon music app.

Pokémon Z-A will likely be a marquee title featured throughout the upcoming Pokémon Presents. Given that it’s being positioned as a 2025 release for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, this is going to be a massive title for The Pokémon Company and Nintendo this fall. We’ve already seen a ton of gameplay and heard many pieces of news. However, this week’s Pokémon Presents will likely shed some further light on the game, maybe highlighting some Pokémon that’ll be featured in this version of the Kalos region.

The upcoming Pokémon Presents may be used to reveal Generation 10. It’s now been three years since Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet were released on Nintendo Switch. With a typical three-year gap between mainline games, GameFreak may be close to revealing the new entries in the franchise as well as a whole new series of Pokémon to catch.

It wouldn’t be a Pokémon Presents without some updates to mobile games. This includes likely updates and new information on Pokémon TCG Pocket, which is revamping its trading system this month. We might get a sneak peek at an upcoming expansion pack as well. Pokémon GO, which was recently acquired by Scopely, could also be featured. Other likely games include Pokémon Cafe Mix, Pokémon Masters EX and Pokémon Sleep.

If you’re eager to watch the event live, you can tune in on the official Pokémon YouTube channel at 9 AM ET/6 AM PT.
