Longtime iPhone in Canada reader, Bruce, shared details of a new Freedom Mobile promotion spotted at the Pacific National Exhibition (PNE) in Vancouver, B.C.—and even signed up for it himself.
The deal, available at a Freedom kiosk near the Market at the PNE, offers a $39/month Canada-U.S.-Mexico plan (after digital discount) with 100GB of 5G+ data plus 15GB of Roam Beyond data for international use in over 120 destinations. The promo rate runs for 18 months, starting in the second month of service. The first month is $49, and after the 18-month period, the price increases to $49/month (including the digital discount). The offer is for new activations only.
“Event exclusive offer,” reads the Freedom Mobile flyer, touting the $39/100GB plan and free TCL smartphone.
As part of the deal, customers can also get a TCL 60XE NxtPaper 5G phone for $0 on a 24-month term—which Bruce noted is essentially a free backup phone for anyone who sticks with Freedom at least six months beyond the 18-month promo window.
Freedom is also running a fun side activity at the PNE: a free VR “Worry-Free Escape” experience near the dog show area, where attendees can take a virtual ride through snowy mountains. The image above was sent in by Bruce.
This promo is exclusive to the PNE Fair and is advertised as a limited-time event offer. So you need to head to the PNE to get this deal from Freedom.
Last year, the company offered a $35/75GB Canada-US-Mexico plan (for 18 months) that included 10GB of Roam Beyond data. This year the price has gone up $4, but it includes more data and Roam Beyond data has bumped up to 15GB from 10GB.
