Freedom Mobile Annual Plans Jump in Price—Here’s What’s New

Another day and another telecom price increase, this time coming from Videotron’s Freedom Mobile.

Two of Freedom Mobile’s prepaid annual plans have gone up in price, but they now include more data and run on 5G+ instead of LTE.

The basic $99/year plan remains unchanged in cost and still includes unlimited talk and incoming text (about $9.24 per month). Outgoing texts are $0.05 each, and data can be added at $15 per 1 GB. This plan also now runs on 5G+.

The $129/year plan (about $12 per month) now comes with 20 GB per year (roughly 1.67 GB/month) and unlimited talk and text. This is up from the previous $119 for 15 GB LTE.

Meanwhile, the $159/year plan (about $15 per month) now includes 40 GB per year (about 3.33 GB/month) and unlimited talk and text. Previously, it was $149 for 30 GB LTE.

Freedom says existing customers won’t see price increases on renewal, but it remains to be seen if that holds true for those on the $119/15 GB plan.

We’ve reached out to Freedom Mobile for comment on these price increases, and will update this story accordingly.

Thanks Joe
