Bell Launches Giga Hub 2.0 Modem with Wi-Fi 7: Here’s Availability

Bell has launched its new Giga Hub 2.0 modem, introducing Wi-Fi 7 to Canadian homes for the first time on its Pure Fibre network. The modem is available now on Bell Pure Fibre plans in major parts of Ontario and in select areas of Québec.
Customers in Toronto, the Greater Toronto Area, Ottawa, London, Windsor, Kitchener, Guelph, Barrie, Collingwood, Bradford, as well as Québec City and surrounding regions, can now access Wi-Fi 7 through the new modem.
Bell says the technology provides speeds up to four times faster than Wi-Fi 6E, lower latency for gaming and video calls, and can support twice as many devices (as long as you have supported Wi-Fi 7 devices of course).
“Providing the best fibre Internet networks is a strategic priority for Bell. With Canadians connecting more than ever, Wi-Fi 7 is transforming the landscape for home Internet,” said Blaik Kirby, Group President, Consumer and Small Business at Bell. “The launch of Wi-Fi 7 on Bell delivers the world’s best and latest Wi-Fi technology alongside Bell Pure Fibre, Canada’s fastest Internet. Together, the world’s best and latest Wi-Fi technology and our industry-leading fibre-to-the-home network, give our customers future-proof solutions that empower them to do more, connect more and experience more – today and for years to come.”
The modem includes an OLED display for running speed tests and sharing Wi-Fi passwords, along with accessibility features like backlit buttons, raised symbols and colour-coded ports. It also comes with 1x 10Gb, 2x 2.5Gb, and 2x 1Gb Ethernet ports for wired connections.
The Giga Hub 2.0 with Wi-Fi 7 is available now for new and existing Bell Pure Fibre customers with eligible addresses. Some customers have already started receiving the Giga Hub 2.0 modem prior to today’s announcement, but now it’s official.
Bell’s Pure Fibre plans start from $70 monthly (no contract) for Fibe 50 after some limited time credits, and that includes the Giga Hub 2.0.
What if you’re an existing Pure Fibre subscriber? Bell told iPhone in Canada, existing customers at eligible addresses can get the new Giga Hub 2.0 modem for $7 a month or a one-time payment of $199.95. Those who upgrade their plan to Gigabit Fibe 3.0 or higher will receive the modem for free.
Now, Rogers first launched Wi-Fi 7 hardware back on July 1, then Telus followed at the end of July. Bell has now joined the mix with its rivals at the beginning of September.

How good is the signal strength? My gigahub offers high-speed throughput but at the expense of coverage in the home.
