Bell and its flanker Virgin Plus are ready for Apple’s iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro pre-orders, as both the main pages of its websites are now touting Friday, September 12, which is the same day Apple’s pre-orders kick off.
While we don’t have a time yet, Apple’s iPhone 17 series pre-orders will begin at 5am PT/8am ET. In the past, Bell and Virgin Plus have followed suit right after Apple, so expect that to be the norm, yet again.
There’s no mention of the new ultra-thin iPhone Air, so we may have to wait until pre-order day to see if it similarly becomes available.
Yesterday, Bell made its 250GB global roaming plan available nationwide, not just in Quebec. That timing might be trying to push new iPhone upgrades towards the global plan. Bell also debuted a new repayment option for device return plans, where you can get an extra 12 months (after your 2-year contract) to repay remaining device balances at 0% interest. It’s no coincidence this option debuted on the same day as Apple’s iPhone 17 announcements. It gives customers more time to pay off pricey iPhones.
