Telus Confirms New Reddit Deals Phone Number After Black Friday Confusion

Back in early November, we reported Telus and its flanker brand Koodo launched special deals on Reddit.

Users were told that they could contact the company “24/7 at re****@***us.com or by SMS anytime at (855) 645-3159.”

Well, during Black Friday and Cyber Monday, the number to text changed to (250) 755-4852, which is an area code for Vancouver Island and other areas outside the Lower Mainland in B.C. (instead of an 855 line). Some questioned whether this was new number was legit or not.

You can see the new Telus graphic below from Reddit:

We reached out to Telus to get confirmation and a spokesperson told iPhone in Canada the number is indeed real.

“Our customer service teams are piloting a new initiative that offers special deals to customers directly on social platforms like Reddit. It’s part of our ongoing commitment to meet customers where they already are and make it even easier for them to discover new and exciting offers from us,” said the Telus spokesperson in a statement to iPhone in Canada.

There was a huge thread on RFD about the Telus/Koodo Reddit deal with the number above, but was deleted over fears of being a scam.

One of the Telus/Koodo Reddit deals during Black Friday and Cyber Monday was a $30/month Koodo plan with 60GB data, available across Canada, the U.S. and Mexico. This was a $10/month cheaper than what was being offered by Koodo.
