Fizz Launches GO Transit Partnership with 80GB Data Deal and $40 Discount

Commuters in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA) will see a splash of new colour on their morning ride. Wireless provider Fizz (owned by Videotron) has signed a multi-year deal with Metrolinx to become the presenting partner of GO Transit’s Express Train Service.

The partnership includes branded displays throughout various stations and the debut of a Fizz-themed train to mark the occasion. This move is part of the carrier’s aggressive expansion across Ontario, aiming to connect with the millions of people who use the transit network daily.

“This partnership represents our most significant transit collaboration in Ontario to date,” Martin Gendron, General Manager of Fizz, said in a statement to iPhone in Canada on Monday. “GO Transit’s Express Train Service reaches communities we’re actively serving and growing in. We’re excited to partner with an organization that, like us, is focused on making people’s daily lives easier and better connected”.

To celebrate the launch, Fizz is offering a specific promotion for GO Transit riders. New customers who sign up for their first mobile plan using the code TRAIN will receive a one-time $40 discount on their plan and a bonus of 80 GB of data.

The data bonus is delivered as four separate 20 GB perks. Each perk must be used within 30 days of activation, and unlike standard Fizz monthly data, these specific promotional gigabytes do not roll over.
