Virgin Plus Sets End Date for $40/60GB Plan, Just Like Fido
Yesterday we told you how Fido continues to tweak its plans, this time matching offers from Virgin Plus, in particular with a $40/60GB plan that will end on April 20.
Now, Virgin Plus has updated its website on Saturday to also note its same $40/60GB plan with unlimited international calling to 27 countries will also end on April 20, just like Fido. Talk about being copycats.
So what does this mean? We will likely see either prices go up after April 20, or data amounts decrease. As of writing, Koodo has not added an April 20 end date to its $40/60GB plan.
Just take a look at plans from the flanker brands of Bell, Rogers and Telus below…they are essentially all the same except for a $1 difference and a third plan offering from Koodo:
Virgin Plus
- $40/60GB; ends April 20
- $49/80GB Canada-US-Mexico
Fido
- $40/60GB; ends April 20
- $49/80GB Canada-US-Mexico
Koodo
- $40/60GB
- $50/80GB Canada-US-Mexico
- $55/100GB
Better plans are available from other providers such as Public Mobile for Canada-US-Mexico, while Freedom Mobile’s plans include global roaming.
