Koodo Just Upgraded Its 5G Speeds to 1 Gbps and It Won’t Cost You Anything Extra
Telus flanker brand Koodo is bumping up 5G speeds for both new and existing customers at no extra cost.
New customers on a Pick Your Perk plan with a 5G-compatible device will get speeds of up to 1 Gbps right away. Existing customers on the same plan will be upgraded automatically over the next six months. Customers without a 5G-compatible device stay on 4G LTE and can upgrade whenever they want.
Dan Quick, Vice-President of Mobility Growth Marketing at Telus, said the move is about delivering more value without making customers jump through hoops. “By providing our customers with faster 5G speeds at no extra cost, we’re bringing Canadians a more seamless network experience with even greater value, helping them stay connected without needing to change their plan,” he said.
Pick Your Perk plans also let customers choose a free add-on like U.S. roaming, international roaming, rollover data or premium voicemail.
While the move to offer faster 5G speeds is great, we are still waiting for Big 3 flanker brands to offer international roaming into their plans like Freedom Mobile.
The move by Koodo means it now matches Fido’s up to 1 Gbps 5G speeds and Virgin Plus as well.
