Public Mobile Customers Are Being Offered A 150 GB Koodo Plan, But There’s a Catch
Public Mobile is offering select prepaid customers an exclusive deal to switch over to sister company Koodo, and go with postpaid service.
According to an email obtained by iPhone in Canada, eligible Public Mobile customers can switch to Koodo and get a plan with 150 GB of data for $40 per month, which is after pre-authorized bank payment discounts. This is for data use in Canada and no roaming is available, so this is not exactly hot.
Existing prepaid account balances with Public Mobile will also be applied toward their new Koodo postpaid bill, as long as they use the same email address registered to their account during the transfer.
The migration deal includes postpaid features available on Koodo, such as a complimentary Pick Your Perk option like Rollover Data or Premium Voicemail. Customers also gain access to Easy Roam for international travel, eligibility for device financing options, and discounts on home internet and streaming services.
So what can you get for $40 right now with Public Mobile? It’s a 70GB plan with US and Mexico roaming, plus 1,000 international minutes, which is far better than what this Koodo offer is. But if someone needs international roaming, switching to Koodo would be the only reason why, along with Wi-Fi Calling features and more.
Even Freedom Mobile’s $40/70GB plan is better, as it includes 5GB of global roaming and is covered by the company’s Price Freeze Promise.
