Fizz appears to be preparing support for Wi-Fi Calling and RCS messaging, according to details shared by an iPhone in Canada reader.
After updating to Apple’s iOS 27 Public Beta 4, a reader noticed a new Wi-Fi Calling toggle appeared under their iPhone cellular settings (within Fizz carrier update 71.5.14). While attempting to turn the feature on did not work immediately, reaching out to customer support provided an explanation.
According to Fizz customer support, the prepaid carrier owned by Videotron is actively working to roll out support for both Wi-Fi Calling and Rich Communication Services (RCS) across iPhone and Android devices in the near future.
Check out the screenshot shared with us below showing the Wi-Fi Calling option, below. If you try to toggle it on, a prompt pops up and says, “to allow Wi-Fi calling on this account, contact Fizz.”
Wi-Fi calling means you can make and receive calls when you are out of cellular coverage, but have access to Wi-Fi. RCS means more compatibility between texting for iPhone and Android users, such as read receipts and more.
The customer support confirmation follows a recent leak on GitHub, where a Reddit user posted Fizz mobile configuration code that referenced incoming Wi-Fi Calling settings. Screenshots provided by the reader confirm the setting is now physically visible on devices running the latest beta software.
