You Can Now Stream Toy Story 5 on Disney+ in Canada

Canadians with a Disney+ subscription can now press play on Toy Story 5, the newest chapter in Disney and Pixar’s long-running franchise. The film is streaming exclusively on Disney+ in Canada as of today, joining the complete Toy Story collection.

The sequel reunites Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie and the gang, while introducing a new generation of toys. The story pits playthings against technology, as a new tablet called Lilypad arrives with disruptive ideas about what is best for Bonnie, forcing the toys to reckon with their place in her life. Fans got a first look when the trailer debuted earlier this year.

Toy Story is the most-watched film franchise on Disney+, with more than 2 billion hours streamed around the world, and Toy Story 5 now joins the Toy Story Collection alongside the earlier films. Disney confirmed the streaming date last month, making today the payoff for subscribers who have been waiting.

The launch extends beyond the screen. “Toy Story 5: The Great Toy Rescue” is a two-week Fortnite activation running September 22 through October 5, 2026, across multiple creator-made islands, letting players step into the film’s world between viewings.

The film features an original song, “I Knew It, I Knew You,” performed by Taylor Swift and written and produced with Jack Antonoff. Randy Newman provides the score, marking his fifth Toy Story film. Toy Story 5 is directed by Andrew Stanton, co-directed by Kenna Harris, produced by Lindsey Collins and Jessica Choi, and written by Stanton and Harris.

For Canadian subscribers, the debut brings one of the season’s biggest family films home at no extra cost, just months after its theatrical run. For parents, it settles the next movie night. For Disney, it adds fresh fuel to the most-watched film franchise on its streaming service.
