Apple Developing Ninth-Generation iPad With Faster Processor and Thin Design, Expected This Fall

Apple is reportedly developing its ninth-generation iPad with a faster processor and a thinner design. The model is expected later this year in the fall.

The standard model iPad will soon be recieving its annual upgrade, according to Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman. Each year, Apple updates its long-running iPad line with a new entry, while updating small design elements and internals. This year, Gurman states that Apple is concentrating on procuding a model with a thinner design. In addition, 2021’s iPad will feature an improved processor.

Last year, the eighth-generation iPad was powered by Apple’s A12 processor. It’s unknown of whether Apple will impliment its A14 chip within the new model or if it will be running on the less powerful, but still respected A13 processor.

With the inclusion of a new iPad model, Apple’s fall release schedule opts to be exceptionally packed. With the ‘iPhone 13’ lineup, including iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max, and iPhone 13 Mini, on the horizon, the company is also primed to release a new iteration of the Apple Watch. Additionally, new models of the MacBook Pro are expected. This year, the company is rumoured to be releasing a 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pro, both with mini-LED displays and will see the return of the MagSafe charger.

Finally, Apple’s fall release schedule will reportedly include an upgraded iPad Mini. This year’s model is said to be a redesigned model with thinner bezels.
