Twitter Updates iOS App to Prevent Tweets Disappearing Mid-Read

Twitter has confirmed that the iOS app has been updated to help prevent tweets from disappearing mid-read as the app loads. Now, users should not experience their timeline suddenly refreshing as a tweet “should stay put,” the company says.

Twitter Support confirmed the update is now live on iOS devices. The issue was first brought to light by the company back in September after its disappearing tweets became a common occurrence on the platform. On September 22, Twitter Support committed the company to solve the issue by saying, “we’ll be rolling out updates to the way we show you Tweets so they don’t disappear.”

The new iOS comes shortly after the web version of Twitter saw a similar update. On November 15, Twitter rectified the issue on browsers. Moving forward, users can choose when to load in new tweets by clicking the “Tweet counter bar” at the top of the screen.

2021 has been a year of evolution for Twitter. The company has been continuously adding and improving features throughout the year. With features like Twitter Blue, Twitter Spaces being major highlights, the social media platform has also eliminated cropped images by increasing the size on iOS and Android.
