Alleged 2018 iPad Pro CAD Rendering Shows Unknown Connector on Back [PIC]

Apple is rumoured to launch new iPad Pro models this year, which could include new technologies such as Face ID from the iPhone X.

According to leaker @OnLeaks on Twitter, there may be a new connector of some sort of the back of these next iPad Pro models, if an alleged CAD rendering is accurate.

Steve H. (@OnLeaks) said on Twitter, “Just got my hands on a purported 2018 iPad Pro CAD showing a unknown thing located on the back of the tablet… NB: I can’t confirm the accuracy of that CAD I share for discussion purposes only because of that weird and yet unexplained detail…”

While the image could easily be a fake, @OnLeaks has a pretty good track record of sharing Apple leaks, and only will publish something if he feels it could be legitimate. In this case, however, he says he’s only sharing it for “discussion purposes”, so let’s not put too much faith in the image (yet).

Apple’s iPad Pro currently has a Smart Connector along the bottom to let users attach an external keyboard to allow both data and power transfer.

A recent rumour claimed Apple could be removing its headphone jack in its next iPad Pro models, following a “courageous” move first seen in the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus in 2016.
