iPad mini 6 Will Reportedly Get 8.3-inch Display, Lack Home Button: Analyst

According to display analyst Ross Young from Display Supply Chain Consultants, he believes Apple’s next iPad mini 6 will come with an 8.3-inch display.

Young noted on Monday morning the display increase from 7.9-inches is “due to narrower bezels and removal of Home button”.

The analyst frequently shares insight into what Apple’s future products may include. Earlier this year, He said this year’s ‘iPhone 13 Pro’ models will feature LTPO display tech, to enable 120Hz refresh rates.

Last week, Digitimes reported the next iPad mini could feature same miniLED tech as the 12.9-inch 2021 iPad Pro. Apple crystal ball holder Ming-Chi Kuo believes the iPad mini 6 will include an A15 chip, USB-C and a Smart Connector, set to launch sometime this fall.

Young’s mention of the iPad mini 6 display increasing in size due to narrower bezels corroborates previous reports of the display increasing, due to the removal of the Home button. Touch ID could see a move to the power button, like Apple has done so on the latest iPad Air.
