This past weekend marked the release of a new web-based jailbreak for iOS devices that offered users a free and extremely simple method to jailbreak their iDevices. Some will remember the website JailbreakMe.com from the 2007 days of iPhone. Well, JailbreakMe.com was released again this weekend for iOS 3.2 and higher devices. The new jailbreak...

One of the major features introduced with the newest iPhone 4 is the ability to have two way video calling, which Apple calls FaceTime. This new feature allows two iPhone 4 users to connect to each other through either the front or back cameras, over WiFi. However, with the recent jailbreak release of JailbreakMe.com, users...

You should all know by now I love using the invisibleSHIELD on all my Apple toys. It's on my aluminum MacBook, iPad, and iPhone 2G/3G/3GS. Now, my iPhone 4 has joined the club. Earlier we posted about how the new full body iPhone 4 invisibleSHIELD includes side protection, which helps solve the "antennagate" issue. iPhone...

Apple today has released another version of iOS 4 to developers. iOS 4.1 Beta 3 has the following changes: The SDK is build 10M2308 and the firmware is build 8B5097d. Even though Canada seems to get technology last, we are definitely ahead of the curve when it comes to North American wireless speeds. Back in September 2009, Rogers (and Fido) was the first North American wireless network to launch an HSPA+ 21Mpbs network. At that time, AT&T, the exclusive iPhone provider in the USA, was...

Looks like Rogers needs to get a few more subscribers on its network, but if you help them out (*cringe*), you can score up to $500. Starting today (and expiring on September 3, 2010), any existing Rogers customers who have My5 plans or any new Rogers customers that were referred to Rogers by an existing...

When the iPhone 4 launched in Canada, Apple had only released the iPhone 4 in black. Originally, the iPhone 4 was supposed to be available in white and black, but manufacturing problems have caused massive delays in the release of the white unit. This week, an update on the white iPhone 4 delays comes from...

One of the earlier keyboard hacks that was released for the iPhone was the ability to use Emoji, or 'emoticons', when typing. Emoji allowed iPhone owners to send each other little smiley faces and other unique characters in emails, SMS, notes, and more. The stock iOS 4.0/4.0.1 firmware once again continues to disable Emoji. So,...

I've been testing FaceTime on my iPhone 4 and I must say it's a pretty sweet feature. It's literally bringing back chatting with humans in real life, instead of texting, tweeting, emailing, etc (that is for those who like to spend time in a dark basement in the summer). With the return of the easiest...

I've been noticing over the past few days that my iPhone 4 seems to vibrate very softly, sporadically throughout day. At first I thought I was crazy. The vibration is barely noticeable and the first few times it happened I simply dismissed it thinking must be going crazy. Luckily I'm not. Anyone else noticing a...

I've been running some speed tests with the iPhone 4 in the greater Toronto area and I am extremely impressed with the speed increase. My iPhone 4 is consistently hitting an average of 4440 kpbs download speeds. What's even more incredible is that the upload speed has been averaging 2600 kbps. By comparison, my 2...
