Apple Might Unveil a 27″ iMac Pro in Spring 2022, Says Report

According to Ross Young from Display Supply Chain, the analyst believes Apple will unveil its 27-inch iMac Pro in spring of 2022, based on a report released Monday (via MacRumors).

“Apple’s Launch of the 27” iMac Pro with MiniLEDs, 120Hz Variable Refresh and Oxide Backplanes expected in the spring as Apple brings its Pro Motion technology to the iMac,” reports Young.

Currently, Apple offers an iMac with a 24-inch 4.5K Retina display and 27-inch 5K Retina display only, with the former models running the company’s in-house M1 processors instead of Intel offerings.

Apple unveiled new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models in October and many suspect these M1 Pro and M1 Max chips will make their way into newer Mac desktop computers for professionals.

Young says Apple is the “only major brand” with a tablet and notebook that leverages miniLED displays.

As for an “Apple foldable” and OLED iPad and MacBook timing, the analyst says this is not expected until 2023 at the earliest and more likely in 2024.
