Apple’s Rumoured “Deep Blue” iPhone 7 Will Actually Be a “Much Darker Colour”

Instead of launching a “deep blue” coloured iPhone 7, Apple will return to a darker shade, closer to black, according to Mac Otakara’s sources, as reported by AppleInsider.

Danbo of Mac Otakara adds a twist to Apple’s colour choices. Currently, the iPhone 6s is available in Silver, Gold, Rose Gold, and Space Grey. Earlier this month, Mac Otakara’s sources claimed Space Grey would be replaced with a new colour, “Deep Blue”.

Now Danbo is back to clarify the rumour: His sources indicate that instead of blue the upcoming handset will be coming in a “much darker colour” than the current Space Grey Apple is currently marketing. It will be much closer to black, they say.

As noted by AppleInsider, the iPhone 5 came in a black and slate colour that was much darker than the current Space Grey.
Actually, Apple has been a bit inconsistent when it comes to its colour branding – at least for its Space Grey variant. For example, Apple Watch Sport comes in a darker shade than the Series 7000 aluminum iPhone 6s.

Apple is expected to release the iPhone 7 this fall. The upcoming handset will reportedly be equipped with a bigger iSight camera, an all-in-one Lightning connector, an upgraded A10 processor, and a higher storage tier. The 5.5-inch iPhone 7 Plus is rumoured to sport a dual-lens camera.
