iOS 12 Download Now Available for iPhone, iPad, iPod touch [u]

The day has finally come for the public release of iOS 12, along with watchOS 5 and tvOS 12.

Apple first shared a preview of iOS 12 back at WWDC, which comes with Group FaceTime (it has been delayed to “later this fall”), new Animiojis and Memojis for iPhone X users, new effects for the built-in camera within iMessages and more. iOS 12 also has a big performance update for devices, especially older models. Oh, and there’s going to be third party support for CarPlay, such as Waze and Google Maps.

The following devices can install iOS 12 today (basically if your device can run iOS 11, it can update to iOS 12):

You can update your device to iOS 12 by going to Settings > General > Software Update. Apple’s servers are going to be hammered by the initial demand, so downloads may be slow at the start. Developers and Public beta testers have had the GM seed since last week and so far it’s been quite stable.

The update is rolling out worldwide so keep checking as it’ll be out soon if you’re not seeing.

Apple also just pushed out a press release detailing all the new features of iOS 12.
