While we have seen a couple iPhone 5C rear shells and tons of lower-cost iPhone knock-offs available for sale for just a couple of dollars, here is the new buzz for today: the budget iPhone will likely have an 8 MP rear camera, according to a new image leak from the Chinese IT168 (via PhoneArena).
The iPhone 5C (will this be the name of the lower-cost iPhone?) was rumoured to be targeting the lower-end of the market, so there has been some speculation about the device’s tech specs, with some suggesting that it will be a less powerful device. And here is the first component leak that refutes that: the lower-cost iPhone is rumoured to sport an 8 MP camera, just like the iPhone 5, IT168‘s sources claim.
Earlier this year, Digitimes said Apple would launch two 4-inch iPhones, and that rumour seems to be correct if the lower-cost iPhone does indeed hit the market, as every sign points to similarities between the iPhone 5 and lower-cost iPhone: same screen size; same camera megapixel; almost same size, etc.
In another image leak, we can see what the source claims to be the display panel of the iPhone 5C. However, after examining the image, this appears to be the same display panel that was leaked as the iPhone 5S display panel, so questions remain as to whether this belongs to the cheaper or the high-end iPhone, or both.
