Logitech Announces Apple-Designed ‘POWERED’ Wireless iPhone Charging Stand

If you’re tired of waiting for the AirPower to finally arrive, Logitech has a quick, iPhone-shaped fix.

Personal computer and mobile accessories company Logitech has teamed up with Apple to release a new iPhone stand — called “POWERED” — and it’s equipped with a Qi wireless charger, meaning that it will keep your iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, or iPhone X topped up with juice even as you use it to watch movies or make FaceTime calls.

Logitech, which designed the device in collaboration with Apple, says that the accessory is designed to both charge your device and allow you to keep working on it at the same time.

“Unlike traditional flat chargers, there’s no need for exact alignment — just drop your iPhone in the cradle and go,” said Michele Hermann, Logitech’s vice president of mobility. “It’s a truly magical experience, especially for iPhone X users who can use Face ID with a simple glance.”

Although there are a number of wireless chargers on the market for iPhone users, the POWERED is unique in that it holds your iPhone in its sleek, unmistakably “Apple” cradle, which allows the phone to charge in both portrait and landscape mode.

The POWERED has a U-shaped cradle that keeps your phone from falling out, and it’s also designed to work in both portrait and landscape mode. Additionally, it’s angled at a 65-degree angle that Logitech claims is optimal for Face ID recognition.

The POWERED charger is optimized for the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X, offering up to 7.5-watt charging. It’s also compatible with other Qi-enabled devices, where it has up to 5-watt charging.

The new stand is available now for $79.99 in the US and will be available in the UK for £69.99 in August 2018. Unfortunately, there is not yet any word on whether the charger will be released in Canada.
