Nintendo Mario Kart 8 DLC Wave 2 Courses Launch August 4

The second wave of Nintendo’s Booster Course Pass DLC for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on the Nintendo Switch will be available to download starting Thursday, August 4, 2022.

Wave 2 brings a total of eight remastered courses from the Mario Kart franchise to the Nintendo Switch. It comprises the Turnip Cup and the Propeller Cup, with fast and familiar courses from the Mario Kart series across the Super NES, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo 64, Nintendo DS, Wii, and Mario Kart Tour games. Each course can be played locally or online, said the company on Thursday.

Turnip Cup

  • New York Minute (Mario Kart Tour)
  • Mario Circuit 3 (Super Mario Kart on Super NES)
  • Kalimari Desert (Mario Kart 64)
  • Waluigi Pinball (Mario Kart DS)

Propeller Cup

  • Sydney Sprint (Mario Kart Tour)
  • Snow Land (Mario Kart: Super Circuit on GBA)
  • Mushroom Gorge (Mario Kart Wii)
  • Sky-High Sundae

The Sky-High Sundae course makes its Mario Kart debut with this DLC. All of the other included courses are remakes from past Mario Kart games.

The new Booster Course Pass DLC was announced earlier this year during Nintendo Direct, and the first wave started rolling out back in March. Nintendo has said the DLC will be made up of a total of 48 courses, separated into six waves of 8 courses each for download. Waves will continue to be released until the end of 2023.

The Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass costs $32.99 CAD in Canada from the Nintendo eShop, but is free for anyone with an active Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership.
