Freedom Mobile’s $40/6GB, $50/8GB Promos are Back Again…For Real
Shaw’s Freedom Mobile has brought back their “limited time” promo plans, yet again. We’re referring to the $40/6GB and $50/8GB LTE plans that have been offered every weekend for the past month, as they have returned.
These unlimited nationwide promo plans are available today until Monday. Here they are again, to recap:
- $40/month: 6GB of data, unlimited global text
- $50/month: 8GB of data, adds unlimited talk to USA, unlimited global text; 1GB data for Freedom’s Away Network (Canada/USA) plus 2400 minutes talk to Canada/USA, global text

Apple’s new iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X will support Band 66 AWS-3 LTE, which is a good sign for Freedom Mobile customers, as that means these phones should work on the network. If you’re buying an unlocked iPhone 8 or iPhone X, let us know how it goes.
Thanks Tipster

If I get some confirmation that wi-fi calling works with the iPhone 8 and freedom, I see a carrier switch coming in my near future.
Wifi calling not even available on Note 8
If you’re in metro Vancouver or BC don’t even think about joining. LTE speeds are worse than 3G with robelus. If you’re tempted, get a temporary number and try the service for a few days to see if the speeds and coverage is acceptable to you.
I agree
That bad? I was really thinking of switching…
Yes. I didn’t think it was that bad either. Goto Howard Forums for more info.
Wow. Will do.
I’m with Virgin and have their $40 for 4gb plan. Got in touch with their retention department and they gave me another 1gb for free to compete against Freedom
How long you’ve been with them, how come they don’t offer me that plan, 10 years with Virgin, I’m seriusly considering switching.
Been with them for a year. Got in when they had that 1 time $40 for 4gb weekend offer.
