Bigger Screen iPhone 6 Will Be a Hit in China Analyst Says

While Chinese smartphone manufacturers are performing well in their home country, Apple and Samsung are apparently losing momentum. But that’s just now: people are holding off in the hope of a bigger-screen iPhone 6, according to analyst Brian White of Cantor Fitzgerald (via MacRumors).

The analyst is currently on a “tech tour” in China, and received inside info on the nation’s mobile market. Those sources claim local manufacturers such as Lenovo, Huawei, Coolpad, and Xiaomi are gaining momentum, and there is sort of a “disappointment” among Chinese carriers regarding consumer demand for Apple’s latest handsets.

Customers, however, are apparently holding back from purchasing the iPhone 5s because there is hope for a bigger-screen iPhone 6: 4.7-inch or 5.5-inches.

When it comes to China, previous reports — see Bloomberg —already have claimed that the customer standard for a smartphone is the 4.5-inch display. This makes us wonder how did Apple sell 1 million iPhones (5s & 5c) through China Mobile in February alone.

Also, another thing worth mentioning here is these notes issued to investors come from an analyst who said Apple will launch an iRing with motion control last year. Even Tim Cook joked about this one.
