Earlier this month, we reported that Apple is getting ready to launch the iPhone 5c 8GB model in India in an effort to bump up its average selling price (ASP) and today, the Cupertino giant has launched the 8GB variant in the region for Rs 33,500 (CDN $622). According to The Times of India, the phone’s MRP is Rs 37,500 but Apple is offering a cash discount of Rs 4,000, bringing down the phone’s price to Rs 33,500.

“Apple is also giving a case worth Rs 2,000 with the phone. However, Apple informs that it’s a limited period offer. While the duration of the offer has not been disclosed, we expect the company to continue with the discounted price to boost the sales of the phone.”

Apple’s iPhone 5c features the same 4-inch Retina display seen in iPhone 5 and almost identical internals including an A6 processor, an 8MP rear camera with flash and a 1.2MP FaceTime camera. On the outside, however, it sports a polycarbonate shell with five colour options and a glossy finish.

The 8GB iPhone 5c was first introduced by Apple back in March in a limited number of countries, while last month, it was made available for sale in 16 more countries across Europe.
