Samsung to Launch Galaxy Note 4 Ahead of Schedule Due to Success of Apple’s iPhone 6

Samsung has decided to release its new Galaxy Note 4 smartphone ahead of schedule.

According to a report from The Korea Times, the company has decided to move the launch because of the success of Apple’s newly released iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. A representative from Samsung’s marketing team said:

“The positive reaction from consumers to those two Apple devices prompted us to launch the Note 4 earlier than previously scheduled.”

This week, Apple announced that it sold 10 million units of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus during its opening weekend. The company has not released numbers for each individual model, however, they might break down the sales numbers during their earnings call in October. Apple CEO Tim Cook said:

“Sales for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus exceeded our expectations for the launch weekend, and we couldn’t be happier.”

Samsung has said that it will be focused on promoting its new 5.7-inch smartphone and an employee at the company says they are expecting to sell 15 million units of the device within the first month.

As a part of their marketing strategy, Samsung will probably release a video ad showing the Galaxy Note 4 against the iPhone 6 Plus.

Do you think Samsung’s move to release the Galaxy Note 4 earlier will benefit the company and will Samsung’s new device have any impact on Apple’s iPhone 6 and 6 Plus sales? Let us know in the comments below.

Samsung wants to launch ahead of schedule because they don’t want anymore customers buying iPhone 6. They just saw 10 million potential customers snapping up the iPhone 6 already. Interesting to see if they will hit 15 million within a month or will they release any sales figures at all.

They might ship 15 million units but sell about half.

Jesus, so much hate.

Personally I look forward to the new Note, and this makes me happy to hear they are worried. It just means I get my hands on one sooner!

Also, increasing competition means better product lines to come. I look forward to the future.

Choices are good. Competition is good. In the end we all win! Just buy what you want to buy! I have friends and family who have Android and are now looking to switch to iOS and vice-versa! All good. The fact that people are thinking of making switches means that the competition is a healthy one! No need to hate. Samsung devices will ALWAYS have MORE features than Apple. Apple devices will ALWAYS have less features than Samsung but for those who buy Apple, we don’t care for the features like saying “answer” to answer the call or nodding your head to scroll the screen etc. Some people live and die for those features and so Samsung is the right phone for those! All good. No need to hate… it would be better to just understand and accept that different people buy different things for their own reasons. There is no shame sitting at a social function or anywhere with an iPhone 6 Plus or Note 4. You would have the best of both manufacturers on the table and I don’t see how that’s a bad thing.

I switched over to the 6+ from a Note 3. It was a tough decision as I loved the Note. Fanboy rantings aside, it is a great phone that never gave me a moment’s trouble. Love the S pen and many of it’s features including being able to hover over dropdown menus without clicking just like on a desktop.

I do miss some of the Note and Android features, but that said, I also love my 6+ and am pleased with my decision to switch. I made it mainly because my phone was the only piece of tech I have that wasn’t Apple/Mac and with all the new integration in iOS8, it just made sense for me to jump ship.

There’s a lot to like about the Note 3, and I’m sure the Note 4 will be even better. Instead of childish name calling, let’s just be thankful that manufacturers are pushing each other all the time; in the end, we as consumers are the winners regardless of which phone we go with.

Also, it feels like they are solely guided by profit.

As opposed to Apple, which is in this business to provide “magic” and has mankind’s well being at heart before anything else?

Get a grip – businesses make money, and will do their best to make more.

Why do you think Apple emulated the device formats and GUI elements that Android has been enjoying for the last few years? Design innovation?

It’s competition, pure and simple.

Read my sentence again. I did not say that Apple is not interested in profit. They have to be. It is business, like you have sad. With Samsung it feels like everything is about profit 100%, while Apple has some other values as well. For example, renewable energy usage, and much better customer service.

It will affect iPhone sales especially with the whole “bend gate” issue that is very common with the iPhone 6 Plus. Which is most likely the direct competitior to the Note 4.
