March Apple Event Reportedly Pushed Back by a Week

Rumour has it Apple will publicly unveil the next-generation, 4-inch iPhone and 9.7-inch iPad at a media event in mid-March. However, the latest rumour, as spotted by Japanese blog MacOtakara, claims the media event has been pushed back by a week to March 22.

The South Korean site UnderKG has spoken with an anonymous source, who said Apple employees have been asked to keep the days around March 22 free. This could signal that an event is coming, and if this is true, that’s a week later than March 15, which was originally reported to be the date for the Apple media event.

While the Korean site doesn’t have much of a track record for breaking Apple news, it is worth noting that it was the first to get its hands on the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus before they went out to the public.

Apple is expected to unveil the next-generation, 4-inch iPhone dubbed as iPhone 5se or iPhone 6c, a handset that will be powered by an A9 chip and feature an NFC chip for Apple Pay. The 9.7-inch iPad will reportedly be named the iPad Pro (mini?) instead of the iPad Air 3, which would be a rather interesting step from Apple.
