Public Mobile and Fido to End Select Promo Plans on July 8

It looks like flanker brands of Telus and Rogers are set to end some promotional plans next week, possibly setting the stage for new plans heading into the heart of summer (for better or worse).
Telus-owned Public Mobile has updated its website to indicate its promotional $29/40GB 4G plan will end on July 8, 2024. If you travel to the U.S. often, it might be worth jumping on the $34/50GB Canada-US plan instead for $5 more per month.
Public Mobile has the following plans as of writing:
- $15 talk and text
- $21/3GB 4G
- $29/40GB 4G
- $34/50GB 4G 5G
- $34/50GB 5G Canada-US
- $40/75GB 5G Canada-US
- $50/100GB 5G Canada-US

As for Rogers-owned Fido, it added to its website that its $34/20GB 4G promo plan will come to an end on July 8 as well. A new call to action message on the plan says, “Hurry! Offer ends July 8.” At $34 per month, this plan should have at least 50GB of data.
Here are the current Fido plans right now:
- $37/2GB talk and text
- $34/20GB
- $39/40GB
- $44/50GB
- $49/60GB

Recently, we saw Virgin Plus increase the prices of select plans by up to $6 per month. Will Fido and Koodo follow suit in the never-ending game of wireless plan musical chairs?

Fido also seems to stop offering free bonus data, as I got a text just now asking if I want an extra 50GB of data but would have to pay and extra $10 and supposedly would not get my automatic pay $5off removed. Also in their website under “My Offers” there is an alternative of 10GB for $3.00 extra on top of what I adready pay. Fido looks to try and price gouge their customers, heck for $5 more then the 50GB extra offer, I can get their exclusive plan of 130GB CAN-US for $55 (original offer was $55 for 160GB CAN-US which I regret not taking before they changed it all), which would be 25GB more.
Curious why aren't more people grabbing a prepaid annual plan from Freedom, you can't beat the price.
