Freedom Mobile Student Deal: $40/75GB North America + Roam Beyond

Quebecor’s Freedom Mobile is offering a back to school deal for students, featuring a plan that includes 75GB of data usable across Canada, the U.S., and Mexico for $40 per month, available for 18 months with a Digital Discount (pre-authorized credit card payments).
Back in July, Freedom Mobile added North America to all of their plans over $35/month. This student deal saves you $5/month off the regular price of $45/75GB.
But this plan also includes 10GB of Roam Beyond data and unlimited talk and text in 92 international destinations. This offer is available to students at select post-secondary institutions.
In addition, students can add a special promotion that provides 1,000 long-distance minutes per month for 24 months to 14 destinations when activating a new line or upgrading a phone on plans priced at $29 or more per month after the Digital Discount. This add-on is available in-store only. So that’s an extra bonus on top of the student plan, but you must head to a store to get it.
To unlock these savings, students must first verify their eligibility by filling out a form on Freedom Mobile’s website, which asks for your first and last name, province and student email address. Upon confirmation, you will receive a promo code via email. To activate the offer, you’ll need to visit a Freedom Mobile store with your promo code and student ID.
Now, you’ll recall earlier this week we told you about the a $35/75GB North American plan with 10GB of Roam Beyond, but only available at the PNE in Vancouver. This is $5/month cheaper than the student deal, but if you aren’t in Vancouver then the Canada-wide student offer is the next best thing.
Rogers, Telus and Bell have yet to match anything close to these North America plans from Freedom Mobile (and likely never will it seems at this point).
