After news of Fido giving out a free 20GB data bonus, parent company Rogers looks to be in the giving mood as well.
Some iPhone in Canada readers let us know the company has been texting them with a “back to school offer”, in the form of 30GB of free monthly data for 24 months.
The text message reads, “Study this great offer” and says “get 30GB of free extra data every month for 24 months.” In order to claim the offer, customers must sign into MyRogers, find their “offer” and then click “get this offer”.
Why the free bonus data? Rogers and Fido periodically give free data, in what looks to be a way to drive down average data pricing and also a way to retain customers, so they don’t jump ship ahead of upcoming Black Friday offers.
