Rogers Promo: Get an iPad for $10/month, Includes Tablet Plan

If you’re a Rogers customer and you’re on an Infinite Essential plan or higher ($65+ for those with a home bundle; or $80+ for standalone mobile customers), you can get Apple’s aging (but still capable) iPad 9 cellular version for just $10 a month.
The deal works by waiving the $15 tablet plan fee for 24 months, meaning you’ll only be responsible for the $9.96 monthly device finance fee for the iPad 9, with 64GB storage and cellular connectivity. In other words, you’ll pay $239 for a cellular iPad 9 after two years, and get to keep it at the end, which is a good deal for a basic iPad with LTE. The regular iPad 9 Wi-Fi (no cellular) is selling is $348 on Amazon.ca.
The tablet plan fee waiver is only valid for the first 24 months, so after that you’ll need to pay $15/month for the tablet’s cellular plan. The Rogers iPad 9 page shows the “eligible promos” and the $9.96/month financing price.
Rogers says this offer is available for customers activating a new line, completing a price plan change, or performing a hardware upgrade on eligible Rogers Infinite plans.
For those who already own a good LTE tablet and are looking to add a tablet plan, this deal provides a more affordable option compared to the regular $15 per month tablet plan, as you’re saving just over $5 per month. The bonus is you get a new iPad to keep or even sell later.

There are so much data offered on cell phone plans now, isn't it just as easy to hotspot off your phone?
The tablet plans SHARE your mobile data, so using LTE is still using the same data pool. So you don't need to do the hotspotting step, don't need to waste cell phones battery life, plus LTE will be faster than the hotspotted wifi. And latency is far better if you play games like fortnite and call of duty, better quality video calls. The list goes on and on why LTE is better than hotspotting by a fair amount. After owning a LTE tablet it hard to say I'd buy a wifi only one in the future. The convenience is lovely
iPads are too large, I prefer the Minis.
I only use an iPad. No iphone. I don’t like them. I use an iPad Air 5. Fits in the cargo pocket of my pants. Pants are Brandit m65 in case you ever switch to an iPad 11 inch and need an easy way to carry it. The 13 inch also fits in the cargo pocket. The data plan is cheap. It costs me $2.50 a month. I use a eSIM global provider. It’s $5.00 Canadian for 1GB no expiration. I only need data to stay in touch, iMessage, and phone calls. For the phone I use Fongo. Thats free. Ad supported. I download movies, and tv shows at home so I don’t stream anything. Works great. The global eSIM provider I use uses the bell network exclusively.
