Apple’s M4 Mac Launch is Imminent, Says Reliable Leaker
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is set to refresh its Mac line with the latest M4 Apple Silicon any day now.
On Tuesday morning, Gurman said, “In line with what I’ve been reporting for a while, Apple will very soon launch its new Macs.”
It seems an October event might not happen though. Instead, Apple looks to have doled out review units to the media ahead of time under embargo.
“There should be some hands-ons outside of Cupertino and online video. I expect the M4 iMac, MacBook Pro, revamped Mac mini and USB-C accessories,” added Gurman. Those USB-C accessories are likely referring to the Magic Mouse, Magic Keyboard and Trackpad. It will be hilarious to see the Magic Mouse and its bottom charging port remain in the same spot, but just turned into USB-C.
Gurman first reported M4 chips were coming to the Mac back in April. Macs that will get M4 will include:
- iMac
- Entry 14-inch MacBook Pro
- High-end 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pro
- Mac mini
- Spring 2025: 13 and 15-inch MacBook Air
- Summer 2025: Mac Studio
- Later in 2025: Mac Pro
The top-of-the-line Mac Studio and Mac Pro will possibly get support for 512GB of RAM, much higher than the existing 192GB limitation.
So far, only Apple’s iPad Pro has received the M4 back in March, which has been overkill considering iPadOS is still so out of touch.
Gurman just added, “Apple is hosting a hands on experience next Wednesday in Los Angeles for media/creators. So the new Macs of course need to be announced by then.”
