Rogers/Shaw Ignite TV App Rebrands to Xfinity Stream

Rogers has updated its Ignite TV app, now calling it the Rogers Xfinity Stream app this week. The company also re-branded its previous Ignite TV Shaw app as well, with both updates coming on Tuesday in Apple’s App Store.
This revamped platform allows users to watch live TV, access On Demand content, and stream or download their Cloud PVR recordings directly to their devices, whether at home or on the go.
The app, included with Rogers Xfinity TV service, has features such as Chromecast and AirPlay support for streaming on bigger screens. Users can stream on two devices simultaneously and filter channels by ‘Available Out of Home’ to watch live TV through Wi-Fi or mobile networks across Canada.
Some features require a Rogers Xfinity TV subscription and a MyRogers login or Shaw ID and password. Both apps have poor ratings in the App Store, averaging 2.1 and 2.0 stars out of 5, respectively.
Back in April, Rogers announced a 10-year deal with Comcast to bring the latter’s Xfinity products and tech to its customers, including recent customers from its Shaw acquisition.
Last month, Rogers said it deepened its ties with U.S.-based Comcast, to bring its internet networking technology to Canada, as part of its rollout for DOCSIS 4.0, which will allow for faster internet. Testing of DOCSIS 4.0 modems already started in select homes in Calgary back in August.

Any word on a Fire TV app (or better yet, an LG store app) for this new Xfinity? Annoying that there's only an iOS app.
the shaw app is on there
I assume those subscribers who can download the apps for their TV's will not need to rent a box, like Telus TV?
they can call it whatever they want but it but it won't be on my devices ever
