Telus, Koodo Launch Bundle Deal for Mobile, 1.5G Internet and Stream+

Telus and Koodo have announced a new bundle deal for wireless customers that want to tie in Telus PureFibre 1.5 Gbps internet and Stream+ Basic.

According to details shared by Telus with iPhone in Canada on Thursday morning, you can add the 1.5 Gbps internet plan to your account for $79 per month, which offers savings of $21/month.

If you want to add Stream+ Basic that’s an extra $10/month (normally $20/month). This streaming plan includes Netflix Standard with ads, Disney+ Standard with ads, and Amazon’s Prime Video (which has ads too). So the total internet and Stream+ bundle saves you $31/month.

Now, Telus says this offer is only available in Ontario and Quebec, where its 1.5 Gbps internet plan offers up to 940 Mbps upload speeds with no data cap and free install.

Recently, the CRTC made a decision on fibre network sharing in Ontario and Quebec that lets competitors access the networks of Telus and Bell in these provinces. Telus traditionally has its internet out west, but the decision granted it access to Bell’s network in the east.

Bell said this was a win for Telus and has since said it won’t be expanding its fibre network, blaming the CRTC. “To put it bluntly, we’re not in the business of building fibre for Telus’s benefit, and that’s what the CRTC policy that’s in place right now forces us to do,” said Bell CEO Mirko Bibic during the company’s recent Q4 earnings call.
