Sony has unveiled a special DualSense wireless controller inspired by The Last of Us series, celebrating the iconic franchise with a limited-edition design.

Pre-orders for the controller will begin on March 14, 2025, ahead of its official release on April 10, 2025. However, this controller will not be available in Canada at launch it seems?

The controller was designed in collaboration with Naughty Dog, featuring glossy black trophy icons representing key moments from The Last of Us Part I and Part II. Three standout images—the Fireflies’ logo, a moth, and a wolf—symbolize the franchise’s major themes and characters, including Ellie and Abby’s intertwined journeys.

Neil Druckmann, Naughty Dog’s Head of Studio, explained that the design aims to “memorialize The Last of Us in a way that resonates with fans and our team.”

The Last of Us Limited Edition DualSense controller will be priced at $84.99 USD / €84.99 / £74.99 and available for pre-order through direct.playstation.com in select regions, including the U.S., U.K., France, Germany, and more. The website does not list Canadian availability.

The release of this controller coincides with major The Last of Us events in 2025. PC players will finally get their hands on The Last of Us Part II Remastered when it launches via Steam and Epic Games Store on April 3.

Meanwhile, HBO’s highly anticipated Season 2 of The Last of Us premieres on April 13, 2025, continuing the emotional story of Joel, Ellie, and Abby. This controller collab definitely is leading up the hype ahead of the season two premiere. The Last of Us has a Canadian connection, as season one was filmed in Alberta, while season two was filmed in B.C. and then back to Calgary.
