The Nintendo Switch 2 will launch on June 5, but ahead of that, pre-orders will kick off in the US and Canada next week on Wednesday, April 9.

Here’s a roundup of how you can pre-order your Nintendo Switch 2 in Canada.

With the Nintendo Switch 2 starting at $629.99 for the console only in Canada, and $699.99 for the Switch 2 Bundle with Mario Kart World, this is going to be a pricey entry into this next-gen Switch. As for premium games from Nintendo, after exchange rates we could see them at $125 or more.

To pre-order the Nintendo Switch 2 directly from Nintendo, you need to sign into your account and pre-register. This is open to Canadians and those in the USA. There are some specific terms though:

• Open to Nintendo Account holders in the U.S. and Canada, age 18+.
• Invitations are emailed and valid for 72 hours.
• Priority access goes to users with:
• At least 12 months of paid Nintendo Switch Online membership.
• At least 50 hours of total gameplay as of April 2, 2025.
• After priority users, other eligible registrants are invited first-come, first-served.
• Invites are non-transferable and tied to the Nintendo Account used to register.
• Limit 1 system and 1 of each accessory per eligible account during the invite window.

Visa, Mastercard, Google Pay, and Apple Pay are accepted on the My Nintendo Store. You cannot use eShop gift cards.

Walmart Nintendo Switch 2 Pre-Orders

Walmart Canada confirmed on Thursday that it will support Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders in Canada on April 9 at 9am PDT/12pm EDT, available online only.

Also, Walmart says “due to demand”, there will be a limit of 1 console per household. We know scalpers are going to go crazy over the Nintendo Switch 2.

GameStop Nintendo Switch 2 Pre-Orders

According to GameStop Canada’s website, it says Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders will also kick off on April 9 at 9am PDT/12pm EDT. This applies to both online and in-store.

Best Buy Canada Nintendo Switch 2 Pre-Orders

As for Best Buy, it too confirmed it will offer pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch 2 on April 9 at 9am PDT/12pm EDT on April 9. It hasn’t specified whether this will be online or in-store, but likely it will be both.

Amazon Canada Nintendo Switch 2 Pre-Orders? 

So far, we have yet to see any landing pages on Amazon.ca for Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders. This will be the one to keep tabs on as Amazon Canada has previously supported Switch and the OLED Switch pre-orders.
