Rogers Beats Telus and Bell in Latest Mobile Network Report
Rogers came out on top in the latest Opensignal report analyzing mobile network performance across Canada. The report, based on real-world user data from April 1 to June 29, 2025, shows that while Rogers leads in many categories, the competition from Bell and Telus remains tight in key areas.
Opensignal’s Mobile Network Experience Report was released today and it showed Rogers earned the most wins, taking home nine national awards, including for Games Experience, Video Experience, and Upload Speed, across both overall and 5G-specific categories. It also had the most consistent and reliable network, topping the Reliability and Consistent Quality rankings.
Bell and Telus were neck and neck for Coverage Experience, each scoring 9.5 out of 10. The two providers also tied for Overall Download Speed, while Bell alone had the fastest 5G download speeds, clocking in at 191.4 Mbps — about 20 Mbps ahead of Telus.
Telus led in 5G Availability, meaning users spent more time on 5G compared to other carriers. However, all three providers were nearly tied for general availability, with users connected to at least 3G more than 99% of the time.
The report also notes that all three carriers are working on shutting down older 3G networks and reallocating that spectrum to boost 4G and 5G services, especially in rural and suburban areas. Rogers is slightly ahead, starting its 3G sunset in August, while Bell and Telus plan to begin later this year.
As part of their future-forward moves, Rogers has also started testing satellite-to-phone messaging using low Earth orbit satellites (thanks to SpaceX’s Starlink), offering free public access during the beta period ending October 2025.
The Opensignal report highlights strong network competition in Canada, with no single provider dominating across all categories, but Rogers clearly edging ahead when it comes to consistent quality and media streaming.
What carrier do you think has the best network in Canada based on your experience?

It's still shitty Rogers.
How bad is Bell and Telus? Rogers is terrible and progressively get worse at providing service.
we sure this isn't a race to the bottom?
Just got rid of Rogers, everything about their quality of service and customer service is awful. That and their prices should be criminal, I am getting the same services at 1/3rd of the price with Bell. I will never go back to Rogers.
