Telus Renewal Coming Up? You Might Snag $65 Gigabit Internet

Some Telus internet customers are spotting special renewal offers inside the Telus app—and in some cases, they’re cheaper than what Telus loyalty staff are quoting over the phone.

One Reddit user said they saw an in-app offer for $70/month on a two-year term for PureFibre Gigabit, with pre-authorized payments, unlimited data, and savings of $65/month. They noted that Telus loyalty only offered $80/month for the same speed and “wouldn’t even match this offer.”

Another user replied they received the same deal in their app but for $5 less at $65/month. The original poster said they currently pay $71 before tax for the same speed and were unsure whether to take the deal now or wait closer to contract expiry for a better price.

While some called the in-app offer “a pretty solid deal,” others said it’s possible to get better rates by negotiating with Telus loyalty. One user claimed they have 3-gig service for $65/month after haggling, while another on an employee purchase program (EPP) said their renewal offer was $100/month for 1.5 gig.

Last month, Telus launched new Wi-Fi 7 hardware in B.C., while it’s coming next to Alberta and Quebec. Last fall, Telus expanded its PureFibre internet in Ontario and Quebec, thanks to the CRTC’s new wholesale internet policy.

The bottom line? Check your Telus app for renewal offers and share what you’re seeing in the comments below.
