Google AI Plus Officially Launches in Canada with New 50% Off Promo

Google is expanding its AI lineup today, officially bringing the new Google AI Plus tier to Canada and 34 other new countries. The plan is designed to offer the company’s most powerful AI productivity and creativity tools at a more accessible price point than its top-tier professional offerings.

In Canada, Google AI Plus is priced at $10.99 CAD per month. To celebrate the launch, Google is running a limited-time promotion where new subscribers can get the service for $5.49 per month for the first two months. This plan first launched in Indonesia back in September of last year.

The new tier bridges the gap for users who want premium features without the steep cost of higher plans. Subscribing gives you access to Gemini 3 Pro and the new Nano Banana Pro model directly within the Gemini app. These models are built to handle complex tasks like coding, logical reasoning, and nuanced creative collaboration.

“This expansion offers high-end tools at a more accessible price point, helping Canadians do more with Google AI for less,” Google told iPhone in Canada in a statement on Tuesday.

The plan also includes a suite of specialized creative tools:

  • Flow: An AI filmmaking tool that allows you to create video clips from text, images, or existing frames.
  • Whisk: A media experiment for fast visual ideation, including the ability to create short videos via Whisk Animate and Veo.
  • NotebookLM: An AI research assistant that now supports up to 100 sources per notebook and offers advanced features like audio overviews and infographics.

Beyond the AI features, the subscription includes 200GB of storage for Photos, Drive, and Gmail, which can be shared with up to five family members. Google also noted that existing Google One Premium 2TB subscribers in Canada will automatically receive these new AI benefits over the next few days.

For those with heavier workloads, the existing tiers remain available. AI Pro is priced at $26.99 per month, while the top-of-the-line AI Ultra plan costs a hefty $339.99 per month (though a promo currently offers it for $169.99 for the first three months).

While the AI Plus plan includes 200 monthly AI credits for Flow, users should note that “top-up” credits are not available for this specific tier.

It's wild how a $10–15 USD one-time annual payment for the same Gemini plan got hyped on RFD like it was elite… just funneling free money to the Reddit/Discord scammer “HeavyDiscounts.”

Nobody wants to admit they got played. “It’s only $10,” “don’t care if the Gmail gets cooked,” or straight denial. Pure cope.

RFD used to be about being cheap and sharp. Now it’s Gen Z hype, performative takes, high-income vibes, aura farming, and unhinged promo posts. Different site now. Garry needs to stop mentioning it. Full stop.
